SAGA Survey of Drivers and Barriers to Careers in Science and Engineering in Jamaica
The National Commission on Science and Technology (NCST), with support from the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is administrating surveys in an effort to assess the differences in mobility from Science, Technology, Energy and Mathematics (STEM) Education to Careers across genders in Jamaica. The information collected from these surveys will provide baseline statistics on the drivers and barriers influencing science and engineering (S&E) professionals and an inventory of policy and legislative instruments addressing gender equality in these fields.

The information you provide will be used to develop national strategies to reduce the gender gap at all levels of education and professional life. The information gathered from this questionnaire are confidential and will not be disclosed to any individual or organization in its raw form. A summary of the results from this survey will be published nationally and globally according to established reporting protocols.

The survey consists of short modules on your experiences during higher education and training. In addition, the survey also covers all drivers and barriers featured in the STI GOL, ranging from the university environment, work-life balance experience, discrimination and harassment, role models, and attitudes and social norms on gender and S&E.
