2020 Annual Veteran Conference Call for Proposals
Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2020 Annual Veteran Conference on February 28, 2020. Please complete the form below by October 18, 2019 to be considered as a presenter. Questions may be directed to Kenith Scott at kenith@hawaii.edu.

Types of proposals:

This type of session usually involves one or two people presenting on programming, best practices, or research in a lecture format. Presentations are 1 hour with 45 minutes dedicated to presenting and leaving 15 minutes for discussion and questions.

Panel presentations consist of a moderator and panel members who explore aspects of a topic, challenge, or question. Typically the moderator will guide discussions through questions with panel members. Following the discussion the moderator opens up for question and answers with audience members.

Action session
This proposal type includes hands on activities for participants. Activities can include resume, self promotion, and cover letter writing.

Campus Engagement
Inclusion and participation, creating support systems on and off campus that fosters military connected student success, advocacy efforts that strengthen the veteran community

Higher Education Professionals
Administrators, staff, and faculty who work with student veterans and military connected students in improving their campuses, recruitment and outreach, policy and procedures.

Careers and Professional Development
Preparing student veterans for the job market and professional development opportunities that improve career advancement.

Diversity and Inclusion
The positive impact that a diverse student veteran population brings to the campus and community. Inclusive programming and strategies that foster a veteran friendly campus.

Research & Evaluation
Current research and program evaluations involving student veterans, military connected students, and the veteran community.

Veteran Health & Wellness
Veterans physical, mental, emotional, and social well being from transitioning out of the military, through college, and beyond.
