California Innocence Project: Legal Intern Application
The California Innocence Project offers volunteer internship programs in the Fall, Spring, and Summer trimesters for applicants interested in criminal law or post-conviction law. We welcome interns from all backgrounds and experience levels. Interns can expect to attend an in- house training put on by the office that covers an introduction to wrongful convictions and the type of work done in our office.

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Interns may set their own schedules so long as the requirements are met. Interns will be asked to dedicate at least 15 hours a week, but no more than 35 hours a week.

Application Deadlines:

Summer Deadline: March 1st
Fall Deadline: July 1st
Spring Deadline: November 1st

Please note:  Interns are only accepted into the program for the specific trimester applied for, however, an application in the form of a letter requesting to remain in the program for the following trimester will be considered noting that space is limited.

Upon receipt and evaluation of this application, a panel interview may be scheduled.  If chosen for an interview, please be prepared to submit a resume. The internship program is very competitive, so if you do not hear from us we encourage you to reapply for another term.

In the meantime, please follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
