BVC BASIC OVERVIEW (in depth info will be available at the Parent Meeting prior to tryouts)
Players will practice twice a week for 1.5-2 hours each practice. Days/Times are determined at a later date. Teams attend 3-7 tournaments over the course of January-April. Most tournaments are within Alabama or our direct neighboring states. Players playing "out of their age division" are rare. These are coaching decisions, not parent requests, so please sign up for & attend your appropriate age group tryout.

We like to keep our numbers at 10-12 on a team and every team in the 14-18 age division has 2 coaches.
BVC AMERICAN TEAMS:
10-11's (Club Lite): $695
12's: $1,000
13's: $1,300
14's-18's: $2,800 (these age groups get double the # of tournament days, a 2nd coach, and additional agility & conditioning specific training sessions)

*Fees for all teams above are ALL INCLUSIVE for uniforms, coaching, tournament entry, equipment, gym/admin fees, etc. - There are no additional fees owed to BVC other than what is posted above. Families are responsible for their own travel/accommodations/lodging at tournaments
*All fees can be made in 4 equal installments beginning on "commitment day"*
*All Teams can upgrade to a National Schedule, which incurs additional fees

AT TRYOUTS:
Kneepads are recommended. We suggest that players wear their hair up so it doesn't get in the way. Athletic shoes are required but they do not have to be volleyball specific. Keds/Converse/Slip ons/and similar shoes are NOT appropriate footwear. Athletic shorts/spandex & t-shirt are ideal. Do not bring your own volleyball.

Practices/Tryouts are not open to spectators. *Please adhere to our Covid guidelines that will be posted.

Tryout Fee:
10's-11's-12's-13's: $20 cash or check made out to BVC. $21 if using PayPal.

14's-18's: $50 cash or check made out to BVC. $52 if using PayPal.

Cash/Check can be brought to tryouts, mailed to: BVC 101 Cahaba Valley Pkwy W Pelham, AL 35124 or payment can be made via PayPal to TLE4@bellsouth.net. {note above amounts for PayPal payments}
*We do accept walk-ups for tryouts but all registrations, memberships & payments must be made before participation can occur. Evaluation & Tryout Fees are non-refundable and do not apply toward your club fees.

STEP 6: Teams will be posted as soon as possible after the last tryout day for that age division.
Players are evaluated at tryouts and are placed on teams based on many different criteria including volleyball knowledge, ability within a position, school, needs/dynamics of the team, coaches discretion, and many other factors. Please know that when teams are posted, you are being offered a spot in our club. Based on accepts/declines, team make up could change but you will not lose your spot in our club if you accept.

STEP 7: Use the link sent when teams are posted to accept your spot in the club! (reminder: all 10s-13s who tryout will be placed on a team, we do not make cuts in these age groups).

STEP 8: Player & at least 1 Parent Attendance at Commitment Night is REQUIRED. This is where you will make your first payment, select jersey sizes, and additional apparel, and turn in other paperwork as needed. This is a "drop in" thing, so you can do this anytime between 4-8pm on your age groups date.

10's-14's COMMITMENT DAY: Thursday October 15: 4-8pm
15's-18's COMMITMENT DAY: Wednesday November 4: 4-8pm

STEP 9: Practice begins around late October/early November, depending on age group. Tournaments start in January and end in April (younger teams may end earlier), depending on the team's schedule.

*So far, it's looking as if Alabama will be able to fulfill it's entire school volleyball season...YAY!!! = ) BUT, IF THE SCHOOL SEASON IS CUT SHORT BY THE AHSAA (not just individual systems), ALL DATES WILL BE ADJUSTED to hold tryouts on the FIRST SATURDAY AFTER THE AHSAA CANCELLATION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL AGE DIVISIONS. Youngest players will begin first then other ages to follow throughout the day (exact times posted if this happens). This will also affect Commitment Day (which will then be the following Thursday).
Warning: it could be very short notice between cancellation of school ball & when tryouts start. We will do our best to keep you informed & will pass along information as soon as we know. Typically, we find out about the same time as the general public. We appreciate you being flexible and understanding that our main goal is for the players to play volleyball, however that may happen!*
