The Young Leaders' Summit on Northern Climate Change (the "Summit") is an opportunity for youth, aged 18 to 30, to come together and discuss climate change mitigation and adaptation in northern Canada.
This year, we will explore the following: addressing false solutions to climate change, coping with eco-anxiety, and engaging in direct action. These are big, heavy topics, so we will learn from Elders, land-users, researchers, policy-makers, and each other, in a wide range of sessions, to tackle them together.
All expenses are covered, including travel, food, and additional costs.
Location: Shakat Tun Adventures, Kluane Lake, Yukon.
Dates: August 18-22, 2025
Eligibility: Anyone between the ages of 18-30. We will prioritize regional representation from across the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and the Yukon.
The deadline for applications from Yukon youth has been extended to Thursday, June 12th, 2025, 11:59pm MST.
If you are accepted, you will be notified by email no later than Monday, June 16 at 11:59pm MST.
Virtual participation may be available for selected parts of the schedule, depending on interest and funding.
