Latin Sparks Festival 2025 - Bar Staff Application
Latin Sparks Festival is a not-for-profit organization that hosts Canada's largest Latin dance party! Intended to recreate the feel and flavour of Latin America, the event includes dance workshops, outdoor dance floors, DJs, performances, bars, food vendors, and thousands of dancers, cultural enthusiasts, and party-goers.

Roles and Responsibilities
Bartenders
  • Ensure bar area is full prepped and organized upon arrival.
  • Provide efficient and polite service to guests throughout the festival.
  • Maintain a clean bar area throughout entire shift.
  • Assist in closing and cleaning the bar area, and returning all equipment to headquarters at the end of the shift.
Barbacks
  • Ensure bars are fully stocked and organized upon arrival.
  • Maintain and restock bars during festival to ensure constant flow of product.
  • Clear garbage/empties from bar area.
  • Maintain a clean bar area throughout the event.
  • Assist in bar cleanup/restock, and returning all equipment to headquarters at the end of the shift.
Notes
  • Bar Staff will be collectively responsible for the inventory of alcohol, beverages, and equipment received.
  • Bar Staff will be asked to help keep track of inventory throughout the festival, spillage discrepancies above 4% will have to be accounted for.
Pay
$17.20 per hour plus tips.
  • Tips will be split among all Bar Staff.
  • Latin Sparks Festival cannot guarantee tips from customers.
  • Payment will be sent by e-transfer within 7 days after the event.

Shift Schedule
Bar Staff have an option of two shifts:

Shift #1 (Full Day)
  • Start Time: 1:00 PM
  • End Time: 12:00 AM
Shift #2 (Half Day)
  • Start Time: 5:00 PM
  • End Time: 12:00 AM
Conditions
  • Bar Staff must prove completion of the Smart Serve Training Program and carry their permit on site.
  • In the case of event cancellation before the event, no compensation will be provided by Latin Sparks Festival.
