The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County's
Teen Take the Lead project is a teen-led initiative to create educational opportunities for underserved students in Monmouth and Ocean County. As part of this two-year project, student leaders have researched, developed, and organized a college bus tour. With an emphasis on visiting HBCU schools and state universities in NJ, PA, MD, and DE, this FREE event will take place from November 6-8, 2024, and will include FREE bus transportation, lodging, and meals for qualified students.

Interested students should complete the following application form. Please note: this tour is 100% FREE to qualified students. In order to qualify, students must adhere to the following criteria:
- Be a high school student in good academic standing in Monmouth or Ocean County.
- Identify as a member of a racially or ethnically underrepresented group.
- Complete this required application in its entirety.
- Submit an "educator recommendation" from an administrator, teacher or coach. (Please forward this recommendation form to an educator or school administrator who will complete it on behalf of your application.
- Be available to participate from 7:00 AM on 11/6 to 7:30 PM on 11/8
- Provide their own transportation to/from the Lincroft, NJ area on 11/6 and 11/8
- Upon acceptance, complete a membership application for the Boys and Girls Club prior to the start of the tour.
- Be able to adhere to the code of conduct required by the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Accepted students will need to complete a separate Boys and Girls Club application and adhere to the club's "code of conduct.
- Space is limited, and completion of this application does not guarantee admission to this year's tour.
- The final schedule and itinerary of events are subject to change.
- Applicants will be required to attend one of the program's "information sessions" (dates and times TBD)
