The PEI Agriculture Awareness Committee is excited to host Open Farm Day for the 25th anniversary year! On September 21st, 2025, many island farms will open their doors to the public. 

Our goal with this event is to connect islanders to the agriculture community and inform people about the knowledge, skills, and investment paramount to high-quality products and sustainable agriculture businesses in PEI. Open Farm Day provides an interactive and fun way for Islanders to get to know their local farmers. Participating farms also enjoy the opportunity to share with the public what they are passionate about… agriculture! 

Building on the success of the last couple of years, this year will be a hybrid event with in-person and virtual components. The hybrid event allows farms to participate in the format that suits them best, considering any biosecurity regulations. The virtual option will enable the public to explore their local farms, meet their local farmers and learn about food production virtually via pre-filmed videos featured on YouTube and Facebook. Additionally, on September 21st, 2025, farms will open their doors to the public and welcome visitors. 

This year’s slogan is "kNOw FARMERS kNOw FOOD" – a double entendre, that if you know your farmers then you know your food, and there is no food with no farmers.
