Seasons: An Advent Series Registration
Thank you for your interest in using the Seasons: Advent Devotional! This 4-week Advent devotional goes through four mantras that help us move through the Advent season while juggling the concurring seasons of our lives. The word advent comes from the Latin advenire and adventus, respectively meaning to come and arrival. Rather than a season, it is a state of being. A state of preparedness, a state of longing, and a state of openness. In all of the Christmas stories, the coming of Christ was met with different reactions: fear, doubt, humility, hope, the list could continue on. Now, as we celebrate Advent, it can become a season where we forget that we are expecting a King. Perhaps we are so caught up with the seasons of life that afflict us that we feel as if we don’t have room to slow down and prepare our hearts. How do we celebrate our season of advent throughout our various seasons of life?
