---APPLICANT REQUIREMENTSAge: 18 years old and over (during on-site registration contestant must certify that they are 18+ and possess legal identification)Able-bodied to sit for 90 minutes doing nothing and down to space out. By applying for this competition you are certifying that you are physically fit to perform this activity.The 60 competitors will be selected to reflect a diversity of experiences. Asian American and Pacific Islander applicants are especially encouraged to apply.
COMPETITION RULES1. The winner of the competition has the lowest "spread" between the highest heart rate and the lowest heart rate taken during the 90 minutes of the competition.2. Each competitors heart rate is taken every 15 minutes by monitors checking the pulse via the competitor's wrist. In case of difficulty with finding the pulse via the wrist, the pulse will be taken via a smartphone health application.3. Competitors must "space out" throughout the 90 minutes of the competition and will be disqualified if they engage in the following activities: a. Closing eyes for longer than 5 seconds continuously. b. Eating c. Talking or making any noises. d. Drinking (However, drinking water is allowed and escorted bathroom breaks are allowed.) c. Sleeping or lying down
PRIZES / AWARDS1st Place Winner receives a cash prize and trophy.Everyone gets the glory of spacing out.
