UGL School Composting Pilot RFP
The goal of the Spring 2019 school composting pilot is to implement cafeteria composting service at three Metro Nashville Public Schools in order to measure the possible impact and inform a scale up model for district wide school composting to reduce organic material from entering the landfill. Another goal of this project, in conjunction with the World Wildlife Fund food waste audits, is to educate and empower school staff and students on the importance of food waste reduction and the procedures for disposal.

Urban Green Lab is serving as the organizer of this pilot as well as the implementer of the WWF audit program, and is requesting proposals for both back and front of house composting service for the three schools beginning March 18, 2019 through May 24, 2019, as well as education and training. Information about the schools is listed below.

*Note that these schools will be composting milk cartons and cardboard lunch trays. Other school paper may be included in time with training.
