Day trip to the Ohinemuri River -= 22nd June 2019
The Ohinemuri is the river that runs through the Karangahake gorge between Paeroa and Waihi.
It is a popular river for competition fishing and has Rainbow and Brown trout.
The upper reaches above the gorge are easily wadeable and flow over a shingle and stone bed.
The middle reaches are the most productive, more difficult to wade in places but hold good numbers of fish.
If you have ever dreamed that competition might be for you---come and have a go. You might surprise yourself.
Its just 1 hour and 45 minutes away - 123 ks. Plan to meet there at 09.00am
