Hello!
Are you interested in learning more about GEY? You have come to the right place! Our Gender Expansive Youth Program (GEY) is a program for 12 - 17 year olds and meets during the school year. GEY (pronounced gay) is a welcoming group that celebrates and uplifts each other. We have conversations about queer activism, trans and non-binary representation in the media, LGBTQ history, trans joy, and more! We invite trans artists, storytellers, comedians, and historians to our sessions. This space centers trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming youth but is open to anyone interested in exploring gender.
GEY program will start again on October 2023 and meet weekly until June 2024. We will be meeting on Wednesdays virtually over zoom from 5 - 7 pm.
“There is something so beautiful in knowing that you aren’t alone in your experiences. Feelings of isolation are common among queer youth- most of us don’t see ourselves in our families, our schools, and our larger community. It can seem to us as though we are irrevocably different from everyone we know. It’s a lonely feeling. Through GEY, we are able to build a community of teens like us.” Tenth Grade GEY Participant
