Apply as Program Manager

We are looking for a program manager who wants to help with our mission. 

Our emerging organization Rethink Wellbeing aims to improve mental resilience and productivity in the Effective Altruism community at scale. We plan to do so by developing an integrative stepped-care system that, among others, includes peers to train psychological skills together, combined with accountability schemes and proven digital courses, apps, and workbooks. We are currently funded by private donors and Nonlinear. You can find out more about us on our website

Ideally, the potential program manager has experience in product, program, and community management, as well as interventions to foster mental health and productivity. Experience in the fields of therapy and coaching, digital learning or digital health, data management, and research are a plus. Research skills can be quantitative (e.g., effectiveness studies) or qualitative (e.g., market and user analysis, and product testing). 

We offer a potentially high-impact opportunity, a great team, and plenty of scope for shaping the future of the organization. The job opening is for someone with 50–100% FTE, ideally starting as soon as possible. Available budget for the salary: USD 3,750 to 5,000 per month until end of June. We are currently fundraising to extend this period.

We are looking for someone to:


  • create, test and execute, the first versions of the programs

  • recruit, match and manage facilitators and participants

  • develop and test training for new facilitators, and ideally, facilitate some of the test groups

Your background

  • some years of experience with creating, running and/or managing similar programs (e.g., mental health interventions, or EA online fellowships, digital learning, etc.)

  • Basic knowledge about and interest in mental health, productivity and psychological interventions, in the best case experience with as a "helper", i.e., therapist, coach, group facilitator and/or training of helpers

  • Optional: English at a native level, experience with data management /expertise in eLearning or eHealth / quantitative or qualitative research / business strategy / team management
