Calling early-stage NYC climate tech start-ups to collaborate with top-tier designers from Parsons School of Design. Prof.Sally Chung is launching a climate start-up design collaboration course with Parsons School of Design <> Sustainability Start-ups in NYC in Spring 2025.  

About this Collaboration:
  • Early-stage climate start-ups in NYC will be paired with the selected top design students(based on portfolio & interview) for a semester-long collaboration to validate product-market fit & tackle UX
  • Jan 27 – May 5, 2025 
  • Student <> Start-up activities will be instructed & supervised by the professor based on the course content and goals.
  • This course will:
    • Define core product design & UX including: 
      • Define UX strategy including service journey, personas, IA, etc
      • Design product: design UXUI prototypes focusing on key features(not end-to-end app), etc
      • Define product-market fit: conduct UX testing
  • The design collaboration & development will not create an end-to-end product design or website design.

Requirements:
  • Start-ups in Climate & Sustainability sector 
  • Early stage, Pre-seed to Series A 
  • Based in NYC
  • Able to meet Monday 12-3 pm on a bi-weekly or monthly basis at Parsons School of Design (Subject to change) -- this may be changed, won't be more than bi-weekly. 
  • Have an early-stage product that needs product-market fit validation and/or needs to develop a product 
  • Collaboration first attitude
  • Open & innovative mind 
  • You do not need a branding(logo) and website development 
  • Provide your own NDA to the students if needed. 
*Participation in this collaboration is free, but acceptance is based on your product type and start-up stage, and interviews may be requested.

Sally Chung is an educator & start-up design leader based in NYC. She is passionate about educating and cultivating a community for the next generation of designers & startups. She currently teaches at Parsons School of Design, focusing on start-up & interaction design. She also runs a startup design hackathon, Designpreneurs Hackathoon, which brings designers and founders to hack innovation solutions. Most recently, Sally was the lead of experience design at BCG.X, the tech design and build unit of the Boston Consulting Group. At BCG, Sally launched 12 new digital businesses across industries spanning healthcare, insurance, energy, and consumer goods. Previously, Sally co-founded HelloAva, an AI-powered beauty chatbot, and created Saks Fifth Avenue's first mobile and social experiences as a founding member of the digital team. Throughout her career, she has collaborated with Fortune 500 clients in climate, consumer goods, healthcare, travel, and insurance. Sally received her BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design.
