As part of our augmentation request for an additional staff and service budget increase to incorporate new programming at Castaic HS, DOR is asking that we allocate dollars to 2 additional line items we spoke of in last week's quarterly. Namely, Workplace Readiness and Workplace Learning.
Until last week, we had always operated under the assumption that we could only request additional supports for full Voc Rehab consumers. Apparently that has changed, now allowing for purchase of interview attire, bus passes, food cert training, DOJ checks, etc for Potentially Eligible TPP consumers as well (read: all of our kids now qualify for additional supports). In light of this development, I intend to incorporate some revisions into next year's programming, building in content and training where students automatically receive interview attire and other tangible supports upon enrollment in work prep.
Lots of opportunity here, but we want to make sure that we're not leaving money on the table if allocated. Please take a moment to answer this brief survey so that I can get an idea of present need.
