This is the new student TAG Registration form. Registrations to be assessed for TAG are available to students who were identified as needing Gifted/Talented Services in their previous district and  must take place within 4 weeks from enrollment (or the 1st day of school.) We will not assess students until the campus registrar has verified that the enrollment is complete. Students may only test once in an academic year. If testing in the fall, students may not test again during the district-wide spring testing.

Due to the nature of the tests we give and the timing of our testing window, we cannot test your child again for TAG services until the Spring of 2026. You have the option to delay these Fall tests until January 2025, when current district students are assessed. As an active participant in your child's case study, you have the right to submit additional data for the selection committee to consider. If you have examples of exceptional work products (especially those not completed in school), academic accolades, evidence of participation in outside educational programs, or any other data you would like to be considered during the selection process, please email them to your campus TAG Specialist or deliver them to the campus main office. Limit your number of submissions to 3 pieces please.

I am referring my child for Talented and Gifted (TAG) services in Highland Park Independent School District.  I understand that TAG testing is a rigorous process that removes students from regular instruction and, occasionally testing precludes students  from desired activities such as recess, specials, or other enrichment courses. Furthermore, I understand that testing is done using various formats which may include online platforms and paper pencil administrations.  If my child has tested for TAG previously and did not score near the 97th percentile benchmark on at least two sub tests, I understand that repeat testing is not recommended.
