COMMITTEE TO PROTECT JOURNALISTS  PHOTOJOURNALIST SAFETY INITIATIVE SURVEY
May 2018

Against a backdrop in which it is becoming more dangerous to be a journalist worldwide, photojournalists face enormous safety and security challenges that are specific to their medium. While many organizations, including CPJ, have highlighted the need for addressing the safety and security concerns of journalists, until now, little research has been devoted to exploring the specific dangers to and needs of photojournalists worldwide.

This survey is part of a year-long CPJ initiative to fully understand the needs and working conditions of photojournalists globally, and to use this data to improve their safety and security.
