The LGBT STEMinar will be held at The University of Sheffield on Friday 15th January 2017. Attendance is free.
The conference is designed for people who work or study in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and identify as LGBT. We aim to use the day to show case work from diverse fields and to encourage collaborations between different departments, Universities, companies and subjects. We also welcome those who may not identify as LGBT but wish to discover and support the work that LGBT people are doing.
Talks (Deadline 30th October 2015)
We welcome talks on any STEM subject. Talks will be 12 minutes long with 3 minutes for questions. Talks should be delivered with a general scientific audience in mind.
Posters (Deadline 27th November 2015)
We welcome posters on any STEM subject, or on subjects relating to the specific issues of being LGBT in a STEM field (career progression, coming out etc.). Posters will be on display all day, with a scheduled poster session for discussing posters with the authors.
