Welcome to Vale Ondula’s volunteer application form!

Vale Ondula is a permaculture living lab: a sanctuary for regeneration, creativity, and connection.

As the stewards of 3.6 ha of forest in Northern Portugal, we’re working on food forests, water management and energy resilience.

Our families, elders, and volunteers share values rooted in lifelong learning, regenerative practices, and mutual care.

In 10 years, we envision Vale Ondula as a flourishing hub within a regional network of permaculture projects, contributing towards a resilient, sustainable future.

Before you start, please note a few important things about volunteering with us:

• We currently offer one type of volunteer exchange: 16 hours of work per week in exchange for accommodation. Meals are self-catered, and you’ll have access to our outdoor communal kitchen.

• Our minimum stay is 2 weeks to ensure a meaningful and immersive experience. If you’d like to stay for less, we recommend exploring our rental accommodations or booking a farm tour.

• Volunteers can stay in their own van/motorhome, bring their own tent, or use a tent provided by Vale Ondula. Details about each option are included in the form.

This form helps us get to know you, your skills, and your interests, so we can plan your stay and ensure a positive experience for everyone. Please take your time to fill it out thoughtfully and include as much detail as you feel is relevant.
