The Career & Professional Development Conference brings together recent LaGuardia graduates, industry partners and students to provide an invaluable opportunity to connect, network and learn. Conference participants will participate in workshops led by industry partners, discussions and Q&A panels, followed by a speed networking session. Kindly, reserve your seat by completing the following registration form. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to conference participants.

Transfer and Career Alumni Panel: Join us to speak to a panel of former LaGuardia students currently working in their field. Come learn about their experience, their success and challenges and about life lessons they have learned along the way.

Foundations of Leadership: “What do leaders really do? Many times we associate leadership with a position or title. But being in a position or having a title does not mean you understand how to lead or what your followers are looking for in you. This session lays the foundation to have both a theoretical framework to view and understand leadership, and learn what effective leaders do.”

Developing your Elevator Pitch: "Elevator Pitches can make or break a job opportunity! In this session, we’ll define and discuss key aspects of an elevator pitch. Also, students will plan, practice, and leave with a finished elevator pitch, ready to seize all opportunities!"

Stress Management: What type of stress do you have? How does stress affect you? During this session, students will learn how the symptoms of stress manifest themselves and how to manage related stress effectively.

Digital Personal Branding: "If you want to stand out in the job hunt and in your career, it's important to have an online presence that will help you and not hurt you. This session will cover how to harness the power of LinkedIn to its full potential, set up a basic personal website, and share ways to use other social media profiles to your advantage when it comes to your job hunt and connecting with new professionals in your industry."

“Appearances Matter:” Learn the most effective way to present yourself for that all important job interview, from what you wear to how you conduct yourself. Make a great first impression and leave a lasting image on your interviewer.

Job Search and Discovery in Career Connect:This session is focused on utilizing Career Connect to search for jobs, internships, and other opportunities located in Career Connect.We will explore using both the basic search features, and extended search options to narrow down your focus and also how to think about broadening your search criteria.In addition we will focus on the use of the mobile application to leverage that app to search and discover opportunities on the go.
