Thank you for your interested in our collective and zine!
FACES (Focused Artists Creating Emergent Spaces) Collective TO is a Toronto-based arts collective that aims to establish a safe, caring program for BIPOC artists in a state of transition (i.e., considering going back to school, a change in career or just a change in focus) who want to dedicate more time to work on their art and wish to connect with others in the same position. FACES allows the bridging of perspectives from BIPOC artists with potential allies within the arts community.
FACES has published our first zine! FACES Zine: Art & Identity (volume 1, issue 1) features artworks that were created during our residency as well as some newer pieces that were created post-residency and is a risograph printed zine. In this issue, we explore and reflect on some of the conversations and ideas that came about during our time together. This first issue was created by Jeyolyn Christi, Kim Foster Yardley, Diana Kwong, Jamie Ly and Anson Ng.
$ generated from the sales of our zines will be used to fund and support future FACES Collective community events and BIPOC art projects.
