Trainer
Mr Steve Quek, is Director, Professional and Wholesales Trades (Industrial and Workplace Relations) and Director, Special Duties, SNEF. His current responsibilities include advising companies on Human Resource/Industrial Relations matters as well as representing management interests in collective bargaining with the trade unions. He possesses a Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from SIM and a BA from Nanyang University. Prior to his SNEF attachment, he has served in various Divisions in the Ministry of Manpower and accumulated substantial knowledge and experiences in different work areas. They include managing employment related and compliance issues under the employment laws, conciliating trade disputes between the trade unions and the employers, administering the Work Passes, planning for civilian manpower resources etc. He has also contributed to the recent amendments to the Employment Act on key employment terms and the formulation of the Tripartite guidelines on adoption of responsible employment and outsourcing practices which seek to raise the employment standards in the outsourced service sectors.
