Porkapalooza is looking for teams to compete in 2019! This competition is a great opportunity for both newcomers as well as experienced smokers, chefs, dabblers, and BBQ crews. Bring your friends and family, and compete in one of Canada’s largest BBQ festivals!

Porkapalooza BBQ Festival follows the rules established by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS). Please review and be familiar with these rules before you arrive.

Competition Categories (Total prize money $16,800) *
Mandatory competition categories are Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork Butt, and Beef Brisket. Details on the Kid's Challenge, Chef's Choice and Beef Steak Challenge will be made available at a later time. Please note the additional cost on the Beef Steak Competition. Steaks will be provided as part of the cost.

If you require other space or site needs, we will try our best to accommodate you, but we cannot make any guarantees. Each competition site provides access to 110V (15 amp) electricity, central access to water, grey water disposal, garbage disposal, and restroom access. Each registered team must have its own site. Teams are responsible for their own electricity (generator) if they require more than the default supply.
Site Information
All materials must be fire–retardant including tent structures. All pop up tents require a minimum weight of 50 lbs per leg. Note that festival layout has not yet been finalized but will be posted shortly.

Please note that there will be a prize for the categories: 1) best competition team site (voted by the public), and (2) best competition team spirit (voted by teams).

Parking
There will be absolutely no vehicles allowed on-site between 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 15 and 6 p.m. on Sunday June 17. However, you will be provided with one parking stall (per team) in addition to your competition site that will be located next to the competition area which you will have access to at all times. Ample paid parking will also be available
I understand that my registration will not be final until the registration fee is received by Porkapalooza BBQ Festival Society. Registrants will be invoiced following receipt of their applications. Invoices may be paid by e-transfer or cheque. *
In consideration of your accepting this entry, I, the undersigned, intending to be legally bound, hereby, for myself, my heirs, my team, executors and administrators, waive and release all rights and claims for damages I or my team may have against the Porkapalooza BBQ Competition, Porkapalooza BBQ Festival Society, KCBS, their representatives, successors and assigns for any and all injuries suffered by myself, my team, or my guests in the event. I understand that Porkapalooza is an outdoor event, and that the ground cover, lighting, and weather conditions may pose potential hazards. Further, I grant full permission to the event organizers and/or agents authorized by them, to use any photographs, videotapes, recording or any other record of the event for any legitimate purpose. I agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the KCBS and of the Porkapalooza BBQ Competition. *
