A Place-based professional learning opportunity for teachers applicable to remote, blended, and face-to-face learning
Hear from practicing Montana scientists about the incredible research going on in your backyard. Learn from fellow educators how to capitalize on these studies to develop relevant, place-based science curriculum for your classroom.
Series Meeting Dates: September 15, 22, 29, and October 6, 13, and 15, 2020 at 4:00 pm
Ala Carte Components for Each Module:
1) Material review for background knowledge of standards and 3D learning =1 Renewal Unit (RU)
2) Zoom meeting attendance with scientists and teacher leaders (1 hour) = 1RU
3) Classroom implementation (remote, blended, or face-to-face) and submission of captioned sample(s) of student work = 4RU’s
4) Reflections and refinements submission (paragraph to full page) = 2RU
5) Follow up survey (mandatory for RU acquirement)
Total of 8 renewal units possible for each module completed!
8 credits x 6 modules = 48 possible credits
The minimum attendance requirement would be the preparatory reading, Zoom meeting attendance, and the follow-up survey, which would equal two renewal units (2RU’s) per meeting attended. The last day to submit components for renewal units is October 30, 2020.
