Blacklandia: June Edmonds Abstract Painting

Inlandia's Blacklandia Events Series Presents "June Edmonds and the Legacy of American Abstract Painting" with Richard Allen May III and Lisa Henry beginning September 10, 2022. All levels.

Coinciding with the Riverside Art Museum’s exhibition of abstract painter June Edmonds, this four-part workshop will survey the hidden history of American Abstract art. Focusing on the vibrant work of LA-based artist June Edmonds, the workshop will give participants a background on American Abstract painters with a special focus on women and artists of color like Edmonds who have pursued a path of abstraction with an emphasis on color, pattern, and texture to create works of stunning power. All are welcome.

Consecutive Saturdays, 9/10, 9/17, and 9/24, 4:00-5:30 PM PT, on Zoom. There will be one in-person meeting on October 1 at Riverside Art Museum from 2:30-4:00 PM.

This workshop is free and open to the public. Register today.

As a general rule, virtual workshops are now capped at 30 (thirty) participants and in person/hybrid at 15 (fifteen). If you are interested in a workshop that is deemed full, you will be put on a waiting list or be asked to select an alternate.
