The 2026 OOTC Program will run on Monday nights for 12 weeks (January 5 - March 23)
Location: Beth Sholom Synagogue - 1445 Eglinton Ave. W. (Volunteers enter through the doors on Atlas St.)
*The minimum age to volunteer is 11 years old*
Volunteers in grades 6 - 8 MUST be accompanied by an adult
Our masking policy for the upcoming season has not yet been determined. We will provide an update closer to the start of the program.
When you fill in the form below you are indicating your preferences for the weeks you would like to volunteer. This does NOT mean you will automatically be volunteering on those weeks. You will be receiving confirmation from our Volunteer Co-ordinator, Shari Fremeth-Tepper (volunteer.ootcbsbt@gmail.com) for the dates and shifts you are scheduled for.
We will be providing all volunteers with a monthly schedule of their shifts.
Please do not show up on evenings that you are not scheduled to work as you will be turned away in order to maintain fire code regulations and fairness to all the volunteers.
We will contact you in mid December with your scheduled shifts for January.
The duties for any given shift may vary from week to week and MAY include the following duties:
4-5 PM SHIFT
- SET UP THE DINING ROOM FOR DINNER GUESTS
- MOVE AND SORT CLOTHING DONATIONS
4:30-6 PM SHIFT (Volunteers must wear a hairnet which will be provided)
- MAKING SANDWICHES & BAGGING LUNCHES
5-7 PM SHIFT
- PROVIDE PLATED FOOD TO VOLUNTEERS TO DISTRIBUTE
- STAFF COFFEE/TEA STATION
- SERVE DINNER AND BEVERAGES TO THOSE SEATED AT YOUR TABLE
- CLEAN UP FOLLOWING THE MEAL
- WASH AND DRY ANY DISHES/UTENSILS USED
- STAFF THE VOLUNTEER SIGN-IN DESK (MUST BE OVER 18)
- STAFF THE GUEST REGISTRATION DESK (MUST BE OVER 18)
- SORT CLOTHING DONATIONS
7-9 PM SHIFT
- STAFF THE VOLUNTEER SIGN IN DESK (MUST BE OVER 18)
- STAFF THE GUEST REGISTRATION DESK (MUST BE OVER 18)
- FILL CLOTHING REQUESTS FOR GUESTS
- ASSIST WITH ART PROGRAM
- HELP TO FACILITATE BINGO GAMES
- SERVE FOOD TO LATECOMERS
- PREPARE EXTRA LUNCHES
- ACT AS EXTRA SECURITY WHEN NECESSARY (MUST BE OVER 18)
- CLEAN UP FOR THE EVENING
