A formação é constituída por dois módulos.
O Módulo I destina-se musicoterapeutas e a todos os profissionais de neonatologia (internos ou externos à MAC). O Módulo I realizar-se-á nos dias 15 e 16 de março de 2019, no auditório da MAC, Lisboa.
O Módulo II destina-se aos musicoterapeutas inscritos no módulo I e apenas aos profissionais de neonatologia da MAC. O Módulo II realizar-se-á nos dias 26 e 27 de abril de 2019, na Unidade de Neonatologia da MAC, em Lisboa.
DESTINATÁRIOS:
A Formação Avançada destina-se a Musicoterapeutas com curso profissionalizante e estudantes de Musicoterapia (mínimo 60 ECTS, finalizado ou a decorrer), assim como a profissionais de saúde da área da neonatologia.

REQUISITOS:
As inscrições realizadas pelos musicoterapeutas / estudantes de musicoterapia, serão selecionadas, segundo a formadora, de acordo com a experiência e o interesse demonstrados pelas áreas da musicoterapia e neonatologia.
Este critério é exclusivamente da responsabilidade da formadora do curso, assim como o processo de seleção das inscrições.
Como tal, e a pedido da formadora, os musicoterapeutas devem enviar para o email da APMT, juntamente com a inscrição, uma carta de motivação de participação no curso.
Os musicoterapeutas que frequentem o curso obterão um Certificado de Training Program in "Creative Music Therapy in Neonatal Care". Para obtenção do certificado o formando deverá ter frequentado presencialmente pelo menos 75% da formação.
A presente formação tem como objetivo final selecionar participantes para realização de uma investigação na área da neonatologia.
Os profissionais de saúde inscritos como observadores, obterão no final do curso um Certificado de presença (com o número de horas presenciais no curso) em "Creative Music Therapy in Neonatal Care".

Primeira prestação: 150eur (a pagar até 15 de dezembro de 2018).
Segunda prestação: 150eur (a pagar até 15 de fevereiro de 2019).

Creative Music Therapy in neonatal care
Training on Theory, Research and Clinical Practice
Music therapy in the neonatal care unit (NICU) is a young and expanding but also highly sensitive field of clinical practice. Both premature infants and their parents face numerous problems and challenges related to premature birth and necessary intensive care. Therapeutic interventions have to be carefully adjusted to the fragility of the premature infants and their family, such as in the discipline of music therapy.
The objectives of the training are as follows:

To understand the basics of premature infants` medical issues, their neurological development and specials needs
•
To identify problems and challenges of their premature parents
•
To understand the clinical application of various music therapy interventions
•
To have an overview over research findings in music therapy in the NICU
•
To be able to assess the premature infants and their parents/ family needs in order to develop objectives for music therapy
•
To understand the strategies, the methods, the documentation and evaluation of music therapy with premature infants and their parents giving special attention to creative music therapy in the NICU

To gather insights and experience by hands-on training on the NICU
The training includes three components: It offers a detailed (I) theoretical and (II)
evidence-based background as well as (III) practical insights into the use of creative music therapy in the NICU.
(I) The theoretical component conveys medical, developmental, and neurological information on premature infants and the perspective of the premature parents. Methodological knowledge, basics and specifics about various music therapy approaches with premature infants from around the world are presented and (II) their empirical findings are introduced and discussed.
(III) The practical component of the training conveys a detailed description of music therapy practice in the NICU: the referral process, assessment, documentation and evaluation of music therapy with premature infants and their parents giving special attention to creative music therapy in the NICU. Goals, resources, and strategies as well as barriers and challenges of daily practice in neonatal care are discussed. By sharing and supervising video examples and hands-on training on the NICU the participants gain deep insight into the practical implementation of music therapy in neonatal care. The training is carried out on an individual and open basis in order to address each participant' s unique areas of interest. It is characterized by an interactive style to provide time for questions and discussions and finally, to dip deep into the nature and needs of this fragile and vulnerable patient group. Rounding off the training, each participant receives a digital folder of materials and articles related to the topic.
The training is open for music therapy students, music therapy professionals as well as interested health professionals in related fields (e.g. nurses, physicians and physiotherapists in neonatal care except hands-on training of music therapy).

Friederike Haslbeck, DMtG, SFMT, NICU-MT
Friederike Haslbeck PhD, DMtG, SFMT is a trained violinist, post-doc research fellow and clinical music therapist at the Clinic of Neonatology, University Hospital Zurich and University Hospital Bern, Switzerland. She is part of the Zurich Newborn Research Group. She lectures at various Universities, invented and runs the certified NICU Music Therapy Training for German speaking countries and has published various articles and book chapters around the topic of music therapy in neonatal care.
