The mission of the Oswego Lake Watershed
Council (OLWC) is to foster stewardship, education, participation, and
financial support for the purpose of the conservation, restoration,
enhancement, and maintenance of watershed functions that achieve and
sustain a healthy watershed.
The purpose of the MPHOA common property
is to provide attractive and sustainably maintained parks, trails, and
other amenities to meet the existing and emerging needs of residents and
visitors while protecting
natural resources, wildlife habitat, and the environment and engaging
the community in a manner that maximizes involvement and support.
About this Opportunity
Join Oswego Lake Watershed Council at a MPHOA owned common space area undergoing habitat restoration.
Every
event will include one of the following tasks: pulling invasive
species, planting native plants, seeding or any combination of these
tasks. These activities require volunteers to be able to bend over and
kneel. Volunteers may be hiking and working off trail on uneven ground.
We can arrange alternate projects for those with different abilities or
mobility issues.
Children are welcome if accompanied by an
attentive adult. Unfortunately, there is no bathroom on site. Please
stop by, learn about the ecology of the local watershed, and lend a hand
as we enhance this unique habitat!
What to Bring and Wear
We
will be working outdoors so please dress for the weather ( rain gear,
long pants and layers are recommended). Sturdy, closed-toed shoes are
required. Bring your own water bottle and gloves if you have a pair.
Hand tools, gloves, and training will be provided. Please bring any
medication you may need (Asthma Inhaler, Epi-Pen, etc.) Please do not
attend the event if you are sick.
