Background

Hi I'm Mairi Eades and I have recently graduated form Edinburgh University with a degree in Sport and Recreation Management and I am keen to help out the Orienteering Foundation by completing some research for them. Some may already know me as I've been around in the sport my whole life both racing and helping out and I am currently on the GB Development Squad.

Purpose of research - This research has been designed by myself on behalf of the Orienteering Foundation to investigate the impact and effectiveness of the Orienteering Foundation.

Why you have been invited to participate - You have been invited to participate in this research as you have a connection to orienteering in the UK.

Nature of involvement - For this research I would be most grateful if you could complete a short questionnaire. It will only take a few minutes to complete.

Anonymity and confidentiality - All data collected will be kept confidential and will be anonymised so participants cannot be identified.

Withdrawal from the research - Participation in this research is voluntary and if you consent to participate, you can withdraw at any time without providing an explanation to the researcher. You can refuse to answer questions during the questionnaire and end it at any point by closing the tab and no data will be recorded. After the questionnaire is completed if you wish to withdraw your data, please contact the researcher by email within two weeks of submission and your data will be deleted.

Data use and storage - All data collected during the research will be stored securely on a password protected laptop. The data will only be used for the purpose of the research project and all data will be deleted in June 2024.
