The 100 Horses Society is a community-based organization that was established in 2008 as the supporting Society for hosting the Isnati Ca Lowanpi, Coming of Age/Becoming a Woman ceremony.
We have expanded by creating our 501(c)3, The 100 Horses Women's Society. We will host gatherings for girls and women at our new office located in Dupree and will travel to Cheyenne River Communities to share womanhood teachings and life-skills to girls and women in their communities. Our vision for a Girl's Society is to support girls, young women, and women in our communities and empower them spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically.
This form is to gather input from our Cheyenne River Communities to aid in building the teaching modules we will utilize during our Wikoskalaka Igluwatiyapi and Women's Gatherings.
Our Mission is to encourage girls and young women to support each other by empowering them with their
ancestral and cultural knowledge of womanhood and the necessary life skills to
enrich their lives and the lives of future generations to come. We aim to
create a network of women that support each other through mentorship to
upcoming generations of mothers, aunts, and grandmothers.
