Kiss the Ground Farmer Scholarship Application
The Kiss the Ground Farmland Scholarship was established to provide farmers, ranchers and land stewards training in the field of regenerative agriculture as well as to gather data and give feedback on baseline soil health information on the farmland they manage.

Our first award period of the year (application due by April 30th) is available to California residents and our second application period (application due by August 31st) is available to United States residents.

Scholarship Recipients Receive:
-Free tuition (minus $100 mandatory fee) for a Savory Institute, Regrarians, or Soil Health Academy course
-Free soil testing within the first year of taking the course and two years after the initial soil test (see our Selected Testing Protocols on our website)
-Up to 10 hours of consulting time with a soil health trainer

Selection Criteria:
We are searching for producers with land tenureship who will have access to their land for at least 5 years and who are ready to trial and implement soil health / regenerative agricultural principles. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other basis of discrimination prohibited by law.

The scholarship selection committee is comprised of a diverse group of U.S. farmers, ranchers, scientists, and two members of the Kiss the Ground team.

Exclusions:
Officers, Directors, employees and major donors of Kiss The Ground and scholarship selection committee members of this Scholarship Committee, and their respective family members are not eligible for this Scholarship program.

Requirements:
-MUST be actively managing on-farm operations
-Must pay $100 toward educational training
-Must be willing to provide access for soil health testing (reports shared with farmer) and for Kiss the Ground to maintain results within our database associated with GPS waypoints of fields tested (no contact information will be provided)

Award
-Cost of training minus $100, which will be paid directly to the training program

Deadline
Spring 2019 (applications accepted until April 30th, notified by May 24th)
Summer 2019 (applications accepted until August 31st, notified by September 27th)

April 30th deadline open to CA residents, Aug 31st deadline open to U.S. residents.
