Teen Virtual Reading Buddies Registration Form

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to participate in Virtual Reading Buddies, a new program at the library which partners kids (ages 6-10) who want to sharpen their reading skills with trained teen volunteers. Children and teens will read to each other for a half hour once a week for six weeks using Zoom. All sessions will be monitored by library staff.

A training session for Teens will take place on Saturday, February 6 at 11 a.m. on Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed to you shortly before the session. Teens must attend the training session to participate in Reading Buddies.

Virtual Reading Buddies sessions will be for six Saturdays: February 20 & 27, and March 6, 13, 20 & 27. Interested teens should be able to attend all sessions.

Participants will need a device (computer or laptop, iphone, Android phone, etc.) with Zoom downloaded AND a camera or webcam.

Virtual Reading Buddies Agreement: I am aware of the dates and requirements of the program. I understand that sessions will occur via a Zoom meeting set up through the Library's Zoom account and will use breakout rooms. I agree to attend the training session. I also agree to notify the Youth Services Librarian at the library (tcarpenter@acfpl.org or 609 345-2269 x.3051) if I am unable to attend a session. If I miss 2 or more scheduled sessions or am 15 minutes late or more three times in a row, I understand that my Reading Buddy may be moved to work with another teen.
