North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council Application Form

Who We Are
The North Lawndale Community Coordinating Council (NLCCC) is a group of North Lawndale stakeholders, including business leaders, heads of nonprofit organizations, and local residents.  Our elected officials are all ex-officio members.

The purpose of the NLCCC is to coordinate local community planning activities for the North Lawndale community (Community Area 29) across various sectors that impact the quality of life.  We recognize that there are already a number of plans that impact various sections of the community. At the same time, there are some areas that have no plans, and little, if any, development. It is not our intent to usurp any existing plans, but to ensure coordination of community planning and development and equitable allocation of resources in North Lawndale. One of the first activities will be to develop and implement a comprehensive plan for the entire North Lawndale community.

NLCCC’s work will be led by a steering committee that will guide the strategic direction of the group; develop mechanisms for decision making; provide a framework for comprehensive planning and related processes and make policy recommendations.  The “nuts and bolts” of NLCCC’s work will be carried out by sub-committees that will be organized along various quality of life sectors. We are currently recruiting sub-committee members. We will formally kick off planning activities with a public meeting to be held later this summer.
