The 4th edition of the Mediterranean Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) Forum will be held from the
15th to the 18th December 2026,
in Alexandria, Egypt. To help
prepare for the 5 thematic sessions, we invite you to complete this questionnaire. Your contributions are
essential to ensuring a strong and inclusive momentum in support of Mediterranean MPAs. It will only take a few minutes of your time (about 15 minutes).
You will find below the links to the relevant regional strategic documents*.
Held five years after the 2020–2021 Forum, the 4th Med MPA Forum will bring together the Mediterranean marine conservation community of practice, with participants from across the Mediterranean, including decision-makers, MPA managers, public authorities, NGOs, scientists, and socio-economic stakeholders.
Halfway through the 2030 international and regional deadline, this event will provide an opportunity both to do
an inventory of the actions undertaken and to
formulate recommendations to guide the next steps. But also to accelerate progress toward marine conservation in the Mediterranean and
the achievement of the global and regional 30x30 target. You answers are crucial. Your informations and your contributions will help to :
- Promote the actions and the local initiatives who will contribute to the implementation of the strategic documents and objectives adopted for the Mediterranean,
- Identify exemples who will be used to introduce thematic sessions and speakers,
- Contribute to the co-definition of recommandations and priority measures to accelerate the efforts before 2030 which will be compiled in the 2026 MPA Forum Call to Action.
