2019 Summer Composting Challenge
What: Take the at home Summer Composting Challenge and help save the planet!
When: July 1- August 15
Where: Your house!
How: Compost on your own in your back yard, partner with a farm looking for food scraps for food, or sign up for a curbside composting pickup service like CNY Green Cycle!
Why: Composting organic materials such as yard trimmings and food scraps reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfills or combustion facilities. Preventing organics from landfills reduces the production of methane, a power greenhouse gas.

On August 15th, another google form will be emailed to all participants asking you to upload a photo or description of your composting project. All final submissions will be entered into a drawing to win one of several prizes including Farm to School Mohawk Valley water bottles or shirts, free CNY Green Cycle buckets or monthly credits!!

Brought to you by Farm to School Mohawk Valley (https://www.facebook.com/farmtoschoolmv/) and CNY Green Cycle (https://cnygreencycle.com), Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County
