Spring 2025 Cascades Native Plant & Seed Share!
It is time for the Spring Native Plant & Seed Share at Cascades Library!
Invite your friends! If you can't bring items to share, that's OK!
          Sunday, April 27, 2025  -  1:45 to 2:30pm
Cascades Public Library,  21030 Whitfield Place, Sterling, VA

***NATIVE PLANTS*** are best, since these are the plants that support our local birds, bees, butterflies, insects, and ecosystems.  Bring as many native plants or seeds as you can! We will remove any invasive plants from the swap -- plants like Vinca (periwinkle), English Ivy, Rose of Sharon, and others. The invasive plants may be easy to share, since they spread quickly in a garden -- but they also escape from gardens and take over wild areas, displacing the native wildflowers! You may not have known your plant was invasive, so we mean no offense if we ask you to take certain plants back home. Let's learn together. We hope you will enjoy adding native plants to your garden!

Why are native plants better?
What are invasive plants?

What do we share?
Native Plants - flowers, shrubs, tree, and seeds!
Houseplants, Shrubs, Veg plants/seeds!  Non-native plants - only if NOT invasive!
Pots & Garden Stuff!

Label what you bring. Come early to get help with labels.
Not sure about a plant? Bring it and ask!

COME EARLY! So we can be ready by 2:00, when we will start.
Arrive by 1:45. Put your plants in our area of the parking lot. We can help with plant info!
At 2:00, we'll say GO! Take what you like - as many items as you brought.
If you did not bring anything, let others choose first. Take your fair share.
The event moves quickly!
