Event Description: On March 8th, the Fleet Science Center will celebrate International Women’s Day with an engineering-themed extravaganza! Students (with a special emphasis on middle- and high-school females) and adults will join us for hand-on demonstrations engaging them in engineering, meet women engineers and learn about their trajectories and find out about different types of engineering and what it is that engineers actually do. There will be light refreshments provided. We will also be screening the inspirational film Dream Big, which showcases how engineers are pushing the limits of ingenuity and innovation in unexpected, imaginative and amazing ways. We will be collaborating with the local chapter of Society of Women Engineers to celebrate their engineers and share more opportunities to get involved with engineering locally.
