Strength in Students: State Superintendent Tony Thurmond on Youth Mental Health in California
In honor of World Mental Health Day, we are thrilled to invite you to an in-person gathering at the UC Berkeley campus on October 10th at 4pm with State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond in the ASUC Senate Chambers in Eshlemen Hall. For decades, UC Berkeley has cultivated unique student-driven innovations, particularly in the health and wellness space. Superintendent Thurmond's leadership in securing unprecedented funding for mental health counseling and driving the development of suicide prevention programs within local education agencies will make for a meaningful discussion on how these efforts may be strengthened within higher education, in tandem with cultivating powerful student leadership across the higher education policy space.

This event will be an engaging and interactive session, serving as a platform for meaningful dialogue between students, members of the Berkeley community, and Superintendent Thurmond. Our program will unfold as a captivating 1-1 discussion, followed by an open audience Q&A to foster further discussions.

We look forward to your participation and engagement in this vital conversation!
