***YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A BAHA MEMBER to join Virtual Neighborhood Watch  (though it would be appreciated because membership dues fund BAHA's neighborhood security cameras)***

Help BAHA help LAPD!  At LAPD's suggestion, BAHA has organized a Virtual Neighborhood Watch ("VNW") to help law enforcement investigate and prosecute crimes committed in our Neighborhood.  When a crime has been committed, LAPD does not usually have the manpower to canvas residents to find out if they have useful security camera footage related to the crime - that's where BAHA's Virtual Neighborhood Watch comes in!   Street facing cameras can help pin-point the time of the crime, and capture footage of the vehicle the suspects were using.  Using the time of the crime and/or footage of the suspect's vehicle, BAHA's advanced capability cameras can then use that information to help LAPD identify that particular vehicle and the identity of the suspects involved.  

Here's how the BAHA VNW works:
1) BAHA's Security Committee will contact VNW members when a police report of a crime has been filed and/or when requested to do so by LAPD; and

2) VNW members will then check their cameras to see if they have any camera footage that might be useful; and

3) BAHA's Security Committee will either give LAPD the contact information for the VNW member with useful camera footage, or will collect the footage and transmit it to LAPD, or both.
