"Active Contribution of Theatre II"
(ACT II)
Call for Participants
23 May-3 June, 2015
Athens-Epidavros, Greece
For participants from Italy, Poland, Spain, Greece

The program "ACT II: Active Contribution of Theatre" is a youth exchange of 20 young people between the ages of 18 to 30 years from Italy, Spain, Poland and Greece, which will take place in Nea Epidavros, Greece, following the successful implementation of ACT I in the summer of 2013 .

The main purpose of this exchange, beyond a desire to develop a unique intercultural project, is to share our common experiences and to understand our varying differences, using theater as a tool for expression. More specifically, our goal is to reflect on the role theatre can play as a tool of non-formal education, local empowerment and to activate the participation of young people in the local community. We aim to promote theatrical experience beyond a means of artistic expression as an opportunity to gain knowledge, reinforce intercultural communication and engage dialogue, but also as a tool to promote creativity, civic participation and conflict resolution among others.
During the daily activities, the working methods to be used will mainly focus on those of non-formal and informal education, organizing theater workshops, educational games, song and dance sessions and musical, theatrical and verbal improvisations that will take place in different indoor and outdoor settings. Daily evaluation sessions will take place primarily in the form of games within the frame of the initial, midterm and final project evaluation. The activities will also include elements of volunteer community service which will put participants in contact with the local community and its representatives.
The ultimate objective of the activities will be directing and producing a theatrical performance in the auditorium of New Epidaurus (Epidavros), so as to present our work and engage the local community.
Epidavros is a place with a long standing tradition on theater and cultural life and thus, participants will have the opportunity to visit the ancient theater of Epidaurus and local antiquities, while enjoying the sea and the sun in an artistically inspiring environment.
Apart from the performance, we will ensure the promotion of "Erasmus +" mobility programs through representation in local newspapers as well as in the creation of a small documentary composed of material that will be collected during the project, including parts of the performances and interviews with participants and members of the local community.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic young people with interest in performing arts. Your answers to the following questions will help us get an idea about you, your motivations, your expectations, your needs and your future projects.

Please answer all of the following questions in English; answers do not need to be long and extensive and are solely intended to help us understand whether you are a suitable candidate for the project
