Wyldewood offers you the opportunity to use many gifts and talents you have in a number of different ways. One opportunity is at all-camp activity time, when campers break up and choose the activity they want to do. Some counselors have taught drama, taekwondo, cheerleading, Yoga, etc. Please list any talents you have that you already have experience in and could use to facilitate for the campers during their activity time. These talents may also be used during other activities.

Preference
There are a variety of ages of children to work with at Camp Wyldewood. Below is a list you may be assigned to counsel, lead, and/or work with. Which groups you will work with will be determined during counselor training week at the beginning of the summer. We will discuss your talents and where we think you might fit in best. Jobs change from session-to-session, so you most likely will change groups. Priority will be given to those who will work a variety of age groups, especially Day Camp. Please check the age groups you feel most comfortable with.
Available Positions
Please check the positions for which you would like to apply. If you are interested in applying for a leadership position (Male Team Leader, Female Team Leader, Activities Director, Staff Leader, Day Camp Director, Head Lifeguard, Ropes Course Director, or Media Director), please answer the essay questions at the end of this section. Leadership positions are typically assigned to counselors who have past experience at Wyldewood, but that is not necessarily a requirement. You may apply for more than one. If you are not applying for a leadership position you can leave the essay questions blank.

Priority will be given to those that are ropes, day camp and lifeguard certified.
Theme
The theme this summer is "Arise" taken from our theme song "Soldiers of Christ of Arise." We will be looking at the Armor of God discussed in chapter 6 of Ephesians. Our theme verse will be Ephesians 6:11, "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
How would you explain the armor of God to campers?
Your answer
In your opinion, why does use this metaphor of a soldier and his armor?
Your answer
How do you defend yourself against sin?

Additional Information
Camp Wyldewood pays first time counselors $180 a week, plus room and board. Our program is 9 weeks long, so you can count on making around $1,620 for an entire summer. Returning counselors make $190 a week. Only members in good standing with a Church of Christ are allowed to be counselors. Members of other denominations are welcome to apply, but you will be filling staff roles: day camp counselor, lifeguard, kitchen worker, etc. These positions are very fulfilling as well, so please don't feel you won't have an opportunity to serve and grow.

This job requires you to live without your cell phone for days at a time, please consider this before you apply.

This is the toughest job you will ever have!

Please email chad@campwyldewood.org if you have questions about the status of your application.
