Story Quilts Community Conversations - Live Participant Registration
We are excited that you're interested in joining our "Story Quilt Community Conversations", which are trauma-informed discussions about racism in America, capturing individual's stories on quilt squares which will result in Community Quilts inspiring and encouraging continued conversations.
This event is an immersive experience designed to enable you to speak your truth and begin your journey of reconciliation and resilience. Our trained facilitators will help curate meaningful dialogue and help you create a beautiful quilt square that expresses your truth.
Because Learning Through Art, Inc. is committed to public health and safety, we believe that at this time our community conversations on truth and reconciliation will be best served by transitioning to a virtual format. We will still undertake this momentous work of stitching together our stories and our communities--just from a safer physical distance.
This event will begin with an introduction to the project and an opportunity for self-reflection before diving into the conversation and quilt square making. At the end of the event, you will be asked to upload your quilt square, and squares from all participants will be digitally combined to showcase the interconnectedness of our stories. We hope that this tapestry of truth and reconciliation emboldens all to continue having difficult and disruptive conversations.
This session is scheduled to occur Wednesday, October 6th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.
Note: all participants much be 13 and older.
