Enter the virtual drawing to be selected to share your Lake Town Story at our live event on August 19 at 7:30pm. The theme for this evening is "Heat Wave."
The format is inspired by The Moth, and guidelines are listed below.
Tips and Resources for Prospective Storytellers
- Stories should be inspired by the theme for the night: Heat Wave.
- Stories should be a maximum of 5 minutes. After a one-minute grace period, you will asked to stop…even if you’re mid-sentence!
- Stories must be true, about you, and involve some change or transformation from beginning to end.
- If possible, stories should be told without notes. It’s you, the mic, and the audience.
- Stories may be funny, serious, or a bit of both!
- Stories should have high stakes. Ask yourself, “Why is this story so important to me?”
- Have an attention-grabbing first line and a precise ending. Don’t meander!
