Request an Outreach Visit 

Our outreach team breaks down barriers by bringing our library into the community to meet our patrons where they are.

  • With few exceptions, we prioritize events within our service area in St. Joseph County, Indiana, which includes the following townships: 

    • Centre Township

    • Clay Township

    • Greene Township

    • German Township

    • Liberty Township

    • Portage Township

    • Union Township

    • Warren Township

  • We prioritize outreach to underserved communities and groups with barriers to access.

  • We participate in events that support the Library's mission. 

  • We prioritize events with free admission that are open to the general public.

In order to ensure a positive outreach experience for both participants and providers, community partners are asked to review the following expectations: 

  • Designate a Point Person to touch base with when the library arrives. 

  • At outreach with participants who are minors, a designated Point Person who is an adult staff member must be in the room at all times during the library visit to:

    • Answer children' s questions unrelated to the library presentation 

    • Address any behavioral concerns and disciplinary needs 

  • Group size that the library can accommodate at one time will be determined by the library based on the activity requested.
