Interns will be assigned to assist students between the ages of 5-12 years old under the supervision of an experienced lead museum educator. Duties include, but are not limited to-assisting campers during art and science projects-assisting with set-up and clean-up of activities-supervising and engaging with campers during museum playtime and project builds-being a great role model-helping in emergency situations
Each day will feature themed art projects, group team building activities, and of course time to explore and play in the museum. Each camp week will feature trips in our Stargazer Planetarium, completing a Big Sky Learning Build-It Project, and science investigations.
We anticipate full enrollment, however, we can only pay stipends to interns needed to meet our weekly mentor/student ratio. You will be paid for all days you serve as as an intern provided you work the entire day and attend our mandatory intern training. Stipend amounts depend on your age and experience. To apply, you must be 14 -19 years old at the time of camp.
Interns may receive community service credits if your school approves. All interns receive, upon request, a valuable letter of recommendation for use on resumes, jobs, and college applications.
Interns must be positive role models (non-smoking, positive appearance, kid-friendly, helpful disposition) and follow all the procedures and rules of the museum, which will be reviewed at our intern training. Caring for other people's children is an awesome responsibility, we are happy you are interested in helping us meet the need in our community.
