2016 Food Week of Action & Day of Action on World Food Day

Thanks for joining us for the 2016 Food Week of Action (October 9-17) and the Nation-Wide Day of Action on World Food Day (October 16)! The US Food Sovereignty Alliance (USFSA), the Presbyterian Hunger Program and other allies are highlighting the need to build food sovereignty and reclaim the commons. Using World Food Day on October 16 as a marker, we join with allies and partners globally this month in actions that raise awareness and help end hunger and poverty by building more just food and farm systems everywhere.

The aim of the Nation-Wide Day of Action on World Food Day is for front-line communities and grassroots organizations to organize actions and connect the work they are already involved in with the broader food sovereignty movement, and create a network of support and solidarity for our collective work.

PLEASE describe your Actions and Events, whether they be food and farm justice events, declarations, activities, harvest celebrations, ritual blessings, protests, marches, vigils, liturgies, gleanings, leadership retreats, sermons, hoop house "barn-raisings," lobbying visits, garlic planting, dismantling racism and economic oppression workshops, solidarity labor parties, or direct actions.

Your entries will be posted on the Global Map and it will be instantly visible at http://bit.ly/action16list. Please allow time to manually add the listings to the map at http://bit.ly/wfdmap16, as that may take a couple days.
