Do you support a temporary development moratorium on new large-scale data center projects in the Truckee Meadows region - including Reno, Sparks, Washoe County, and surrounding and downstream communities - while each municipality develops its own standards within a shared regional framework or vision, ensuring a common baseline that any jurisdiction may exceed but none fall below?

As of today, no moratorium is in place in the region. In early 2025, a majority of the Reno Planning Commission voted to pass a draft resolution recommending a temporary moratorium on large-scale data center development and calling for a text amendment process to develop formal standards - citing concerns about the pace of growth and the absence of adopted policies around water use, energy load, infrastructure capacity, and community benefit.
