Youth & Media: A workshop for parents
Thursday, August 8 | 6:30-7:30 | Community Room
Presented by: Renee Childs, MSW

In this introductory session, Renee will touch on most of these subjects: the new challenges youth face from constant media connection and its effects on social-emotional skills and anxiety. We discuss how this generation has access to much more than any other, including pornography. For solutions, we will go through the evidence-based practice of media literacy, create a family media plan, and discuss how each parent can adapt an ideology that is unique to the character of their child. And maybe most importantly, we go over ways we can start working toward larger-scale solutions as a society.
