The registration packet must be completed by all participants. There is limited space in the program and participants will be enrolled based on completion of the registration packet as well as Parent/Guardian and participation orientation attendance on October 12, 2019 at the Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center in Minneapolis.

The members of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta invite your daughter(s) to register and participate in our youth development programs focused on middle and high school girls.
Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy (Middle School)
Our Delta Academy is designed for African-American girls in grades 6th - 8th living in the Twin Cities metro area.
The program focuses on the development of positive attitudes, effective problem solving skills, confidence and other skills to help build a solid plan for the future. The goals of the program are to assist in preparing young girls for full participation as leaders in the 21century.
Dr. Jeanne Noble GEMS Institute (High School)
Our Delta GEMS program serves African-American high school girls in grades 9th -12th and is an extension of Delta Academy. The goals of the GEMS program are instill the need to excel academically; to provide tools that enable girls to sharpen and enhance their skills to achieve high levels of academic success; to assist girls in proper goal setting and planning for their futures high school and beyond; and to create compassionate, caring, and community minded young women by actively involving them in service learning and community service opportunities.
The program dates are every second Saturday of the month starting October 12, 2019. Participants are expected to attend each session with no more than one excused absence. Before registering please confirm that the commitment for the year is possible for your daughter and family. We will meet at a new location this year for Orientation - Urban League Minneapolis 2100 Plymouth Ave N, Minneapolis 55411. The following sessions beginning in November will resume at the University of Minnesota's Urban Research facility in Minneapolis at 2001 Plymouth Avenue North.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated is a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. Since its founding more than 200,000 women have joined the organization. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. The sorority currently has 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea.
The members of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. truly look forward to receiving your daughter’s registration and joining you at the orientation on October 12, 2019. Orientation is mandatory for full program enrollment.
